QRMFN Family Program

This year’s QRMFN Family Program provides a range of activities for rural spouses, partners and children, with many opportunities to catch up with old friends and new. QRMFN has planned a number of exciting activities to suit everyone!

Important Information:

  • The family program is open to all spouses, partners’ and families, including spouses/partners who are not accompanying children.
  • If children are attending the family program sessions, there must be another adult in attendance in addition to the doctor attending the conference.
  • No children are permitted in the trade area at any time.

QRMFN afternoon tea meet and greet **
Venue: Hall B, GECC.
Join us for afternoon tea and fun to network with the QRMFN program attendees


QRMFN Children's activity (clay workshop) and dinner ** - Venue: Hall B, GECC 

16:30-18:30 – Mosaic Craft Workshop The opportunity to network with other spouses whilst enjoying a craft activity – Playhouse (basement), GECC OR 17:00-18:30 - Conference Opening Address – Theatre. GECC 18:30-20:30 - Welcome Reception** - Venue: Foyer GECC

Family day out in Gladstone – Pumped Sport and BBQ / Picnic lunch** - Venue: Marina Parklands


Friday night social *** Venue: Auckland House

Our Friday night social is family friendly.


Children’s Activities – A range of activities on offer (indoor rock climbing, mini golf, team ball games & soft play gym for under 5s)** -
Venue: Tannum Sands Fitness Centre



QRMFN Spouse Networking Lunch** - Venue: Tannum Sands Fitness Centre Covered Deck Relax and enjoy the opportunity to network and chat with other rural medical spouses and partners while discovering more about QRMFN and contribute to our future directions

Children's dinner, entertainment and movie night
Venue: Conference Room 1,2,3, GECC

18:30 - Pre-dinner drinks

19:00 - David Horn memorial gala dinner and awards 

**Whilst children’s activities will be offered with carers provided, ALL children must have at least one parent onsite during the activity.
*** Supervision is NOT provided for this activity. Children MUST be accompanied by a guardian.

The QRMFN program is subject to change.

Spouse/family Program ticket inclusions

  • Craft workshops for adults and children 
  • Complimentary attendance at the conference official opening and keynote address
  • Welcome reception supper and drinks package
  • Friday night social (including dinner, cash bar)
  • Conference gala dinner and awards ticket (including pre-dinner drinks, dinner and drinks package)
  • All spouse, partner and children’s activities outlined in the QRMFN program above. These activities are for children aged under 16

Note: the spouse/family program registration ticket does not include attendance at all RDAQ Conference sessions. Spouses who are also medical practitioners wishing to attend all RDAQ Conference sessions are required to pay the full RDAQ delegate registration fee. Associate membership is an option to spouses who are not medical practitioners offering significant discounts.

Backbone of the Bush Award


Do you know of a partner/spouse of a rural medical professional who has gone above and beyond in your local rural community? This award recognises the personal and professional achievements of spouses and partners of rural medical professionals.

The overall winner will be awarded during the prestigious RDAQ David Horn Memorial Gala Dinner & Awards.
