RDAQ 2018

RDAQ will host our 29th Annual Conference in Brisbane. For almost 3 decades we’ve been coming together each June, catching up with friends, learning from each other, and enjoying the truly unique camaraderie our conference offers.

This year we will celebrate the diversity of our members, from many cultures, communities, and backgrounds, all united in our common calling to serve the people of rural Queensland.

We will reflect on the changes in rural medicine since we last gathered and look to the opportunities ahead with Queensland’s continued leadership in workforce and the appointment of a National Rural Health Commissioner.

Please join us, speak up, and share your stories. With members from Thursday Island to St George, Mt Isa to Mount Tamborine, whether working in a hospital, general practice, Aboriginal Medical Service or the RFDS. No other group brings together more journeys on common ground than RDAQ.

It’s only by hearing from every one of you that we can capture the spectrum of rural practice in Queensland, and continue to grow and lead for the year ahead.

I do hope that you will join us in Brisbane. I’ll truly be looking forward to hearing from as many of you as I can.

From the Torres Strait to Cunnamulla, Queensland rural doctors and health professionals have diverse backgrounds and experience a spectrum of practice settings. This years’ theme Come Together: Many journeys: Common ground creates an opportunity to come together to connect with each other and update across a variety of rural and remote health topics.  The conference is ideal for remote, rural and regional practitioners, students, policy leaders and health administrators.

RDAQ 2018 will be held at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) and Rydges South Bank from 7 – 9 June with one day of pre-conference workshops.

RDAQ 2018 will tackle the challenges of remote and rural practice while connecting delegates with the real opportunities rural practice brings to health careers. The conference will offer a variety of concurrent sessions, including diverse clinical updates, stimulating discussion forums, current research trends and hands-on workshops.

RDAQ 2018 is a unique opportunity to share experiences, develop new skills and connect with colleagues.
